LonnoLodge has 8 luxury units, ranging from 43 sqm Double Rooms to 133 sqm Suites. Each one of this unit has been carefully fitted with stylish furnitures, coupling the coastal atmosphere of this place and this area with the highest expectations of our guests. But we’re not simply replicating a “boutique townie hotel” on the coast, full of what you are used to from a chain hotel of this kind. Here you’re in Kenya. And when you’re facing the ocean from your window, you cannot forget that you have a whole continent, that’s Africa,  behind of you.

We are well aware that luxury cannot come without respect to the environment and to the land that welcomes us with love and incredible places, sunsets, flavours and colours. And we didn’t want to!  That’s why we decided, since the beginning of our project, to provide a top quality service but not a place full of gimmicks meant more for catalogues than for real lives. We strongly wanted a “real” place that, beyond imagination, could provide us with the feeling belonging to tented camps of the last century. We’re not in a safari area, we know, we’re on the coast of the Watamu Marine National Park, and a tented camp would have been a little too naive, but there are many examples of local architecture to get inspiration from. Gede, Lamu, and many other places that were and still are part of the Kenya history, and part of our daily lives. Our units face the sea to take adavntage of the sea breeze and to get rid of air conditioning (is there anything more nonsense on a sea side?) and their bathrooms do not feature a “jacuzzi” simply because that’s a waste of water.

All of our rooms are equipped with a kitchenette (frigo-bar, kettle, tea-kit, hot&cool water dispenser, sink, glasses & cups), safe-box, satellite TV with available free channels, bathrooms have shower and hairdryer, and sockets are multi-standard: no more messing around with sockets and plugs, no more travelling with tons of adapters. The TV set also has video-IN and HDMI connectors in a comfortable postion, to give you the opportunity to check your pictures or movies on a wide screen during your staying and, in case, re-shoot your memories of Kenya before leaving.
